We are pleased to announce that, after numerous meetings and discussions with neighbors, business leaders, historic groups and town officials, our official application to transform Pickering House into an inn was submitted to the Wolfeboro Planning Board on October 12. We are now on the agenda for the Planning Board’s November 1st meeting (Tuesday, November 1, at 7:30 pm at the Town Hall). At this meeting, the Planning Board will review and, hopefully, approve our application for Site Plan Review as required for the conversion of the property for use as an inn.
We would love to come to the meeting with lots of letters showing widespread community support for the project. If you could take a moment to send a brief message of support, it would be greatly appreciated. Simply click on the link below to send an email:
Your support will add to all the wonderful emails full of kind words, encouragement and thanks that we have received over the past months. On the days that have – at times – felt overwhelming, these kind words have made such a positive difference!
When we bought Pickering House last February, we knew a great adventure was in store for us. Back then, we simply wanted to save one of Wolfeboro’s treasured downtown historic structures from getting ripped down for generic commercial development. Since then, hours of thought, planning, meetings and work have gone on behind the scenes to give Pickering House a new lease on life as a distinctive inn and intimate event space. Throughout it all, everyone from town officials and board members, to our valued team of consultants, professionals and contractors, have been unfailingly supportive. Together, we share a “can do” attitude as we unite to save this special Wolfeboro landmark.
We look forward to the next phase as we begin the renovation construction in spring of 2017, the opening on Wolfeboro’s newest Inn in 2018, and the start of this next chapter for the Pickering House.
