Talking About Pickering House with NH Public Television

NPTV interview Pickering House Wolfeboro

On Saturday, December 3rd, Peter and Patty sat down with a NH Public Television (NHPTV) producer to talk about Pickering House. The 45 minute interview may air as part of an “Our Hometown” segment dedicated to Wolfeboro. We say “may air” because NHPTV talked to more than 40 people but the segment will feature just two to three minutes of comments from four or five people.

Peter and Patty spoke about the history of Pickering House and how the entire community has rallied around the renovation of the historic homestead. The Cookes showed artifacts from the building's rich history and talked about the satisfaction they have received from saving a treasured landmark from possible demolition. One thing that Patty almost forgot to talk about was that Pickering House is going to be an inn and event venue! “I got so carried away talking about the incredible community support to give Pickering House a new lease on life that I forgot to mention what the new life will be. Thank goodness Peter stepped in!” she laughs.

Wolfeboro’s “Our Hometown” segment will air in Spring 2017. A special preview will be held in town before the broadcast. Stay tuned for more details!
