Here are just a few of the many five star reviews we have recently received on TripAdvisor:
Couldn’t Be Better
We thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay at this newly restored NH getaway. Our room was beautifully appointed, bright with sunshine and beyond comfortable. The hot breakfast prepared to order was perfect. We recommend this spot highly to all travelers who appreciate perfection and are willing to pay for it. We cannot wait to return when their newest project, a restaurant next door, Pavilion, is completed sometime in the fall of 2020.
Fantastic In So Many Ways
Last weekend was our first visit to The Pickering. This is such an incredibly welcome addition to Wolfeboro. The Pickering is perfect in so many ways. It is a wonderful restoration, very well outfitted, generously sized rooms, big bathrooms and great amenities. In addition, the staff are very warm and welcoming. The owners, Penny and Peter, are always around and welcome to share their passion for Wolfeboro and The Pickering including the motivation to buy and restore this beautiful building.
My wife and I toured all 10 rooms and each is a bit different, but we would be very happy to stay in each one of them. There are no bad rooms! We have already booked our return!
Bright, Fresh and Welcoming Lodging!
This wonderful bed and breakfast is lovely and comfortable, with enough luxury touches to make you feel pampered, yet without pretentious attitude. This is an old building which has undergone a very tasteful renovation, preserving its ageless grace while simultaneously providing up-to-date conveniences. The beds are extremely comfortable, the Frette sheets are sinfully indulgent, the shower was amazing! Breakfast was delicious, and delightfully served outside beside a beautiful garden. The staff and owner are friendly and knowledgeable, and steered us to fun activities and wonderful restaurants, all reachable just a few short blocks away. Great accommodations, great location, great experience, and we’ll be back!
Lovingly and Beautifully Restored Inn with All the Bells and Whistles !
We just returned from a wonderful stay. A beautifully and lovingly restored Inn !! Greeted with a warm welcome and thoughtful tour was just a start to the wonderful attention given by the owners and staff ! The Inn is beautifully decorated, immaculate and all the commons rooms are welcoming, cozy and comfortable. That is just the half of it. Once in our room we found the owners have thought of everything from the fine linens ,comfortable bed, quiet air conditioning and furnishings, all maintaining the character of this antique BUT the high tech features were a pleasant surprise. The remote controlled window blinds, multi port USB docking, heated bathroom floors, electronic shower controls(set your desired water temp) and hard-wired make up mirrors !! Perfect location as you can walk to stores, restaurants, candy and ice cream shops and Lake Winnipesaukee pier etc. A must see to appreciate!
Loved It So Much
The staff here is amazing – so accommodating and welcoming. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Great location, super close to town – restaurants, lake, etc. Lots of touches that make this memorable for a family visit.
What a Fabulous, Fun Place
The Inn has been completely renovated with every effort made to preserve the old while blending in all the modern amenities of a five star property. It’s in a perfect location just a short walk to downtown. The room was spacious with a sitting area so we enjoyed a glass of vino. We were in awe of the bathroom !! And the mattress was extremely comfortable. [The staff] and the owner, Patty Cooke, treated like us like family. It’s an amazing property. We sat out on the front porch watched the activities before dinner. After dinner came back sat by the the fire pit. Had a delicious breakfast … Have to say it was a great experience.
We recently had the distinct pleasure of staying at the Pickering House Inn in beautiful Wolfeboro, NH. We were greeted by Michael who gave us a brief tour and history of the Inn. Our room was spectacular, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the house Pavilion red wine was superb. [The chef] capped it off with a delicious breakfast. We are already looking forward to our return stay.
Even a Quick Getaway Can Be Wonderfully Memorable at Pickering House!
My husband and I were privileged to enjoy an overnight stay in Wolfeboro, NH at the Pickering House Inn. While we had seen the property before while under construction, we were astounded by the excellent attention to detail evident at every turn in this masterfully renovated historic home. We were treated to a stay in the Pickering Suite where we delighted in the luxurious space and furnishings and view with every amenity provided. The restfulness that permeated our stay was truly a gift! Pickering House staff were attentive to our needs and requests; they provided excellent recommendations for dining options. Simply sitting for a time in one of the beautiful indoor gathering spaces was renewing: books and games and fascinating old photos abound to whet the curiosity. Peter and Patty Cooke are gracious hosts, indeed! What a blessing and joy to experience this marvelous getaway in the beautiful Lakes region of NH! We’ll be back, for sure!
One Night Was Not Enough
The attention to detail is unequalled in the lakes region. We had the pleasure of staying one night and decided to add an additional night because we were so impressed and enjoyed our stay so much. The service, ambiance, breakfast, and creature comforts make this a must see and experience first hand!!! I’m already planning my next stay!
Cozy, Beautiful Getaway
“Is there an option to rank this inn a 6 out of 5 stars? 🙂 My boyfriend and I decided to spend NYE 2019 in Wolfeboro, NH, and absolutely loved our stay at the Pickering House Inn. We felt like we were at home (if only our home was this nice!) Everyone we met there, both staff and other guests, was incredibly warm and inviting. It’s clear that the owners of the inn have an unparalleled attention to detail; from the heated bathroom floors to the beautiful accents throughout the inn, we took notes on how we may want to incorporate these details into our own home (when we decide to buy a place of our own!) If you make the smart decision to stay here, I recommend you stay for breakfast. After sleeping in on new years’ day, we walked downstairs to be met with a delicious meal that was both savory and sweet.”
“The highlight of a lovely, ten-day road trip was our stay at the Pickering House Inn. It was recommended by friends who had recently relocated to Wolfeboro, and had watched the transformation of the old building and barn into the stunning property we found at check-in. My husband and I spent years in the luxury hospitality business, and it’s rare for us to find a hotel/inn that we feel has ticked all the boxes – and then some. In the interest of brevity, I’ll just say that both the exterior and interior are handsomely designed and furnished, every comfort had been thoughtfully provided, and the staff offers the perfect blend of friendly and professional care… My suggestion: hurry and book your stay at Pickering – it’s a not-to-be-missed experience.”
Really Wonderful Place to Stay
“Stayed for three nights for a birthday getaway this summer. Gorgeous property that has been impeccably restored; comfortable and lovely rooms; wonderful staff; amazing breakfasts, etc. Was our first time in Wolfeboro and it seems likes a really great addition to the area. We were excited to stay here when we discovered it and it did not disappoint. Easy walk to town and great home base for the Lake W. area. We’d love to go back and hope to again soon!”
Beautiful Property, Wonderful Stay!
“I highly recommend the Pickering House. I am an interior designer and can attest that the attention to detail in the renovation of this property is immaculately and thoughtfully done. The materials, amenities, and overall tone will put you at ease immediately. The only thing better than the decor is the staff. They truly know how to welcome you! I have food allergies and the chef made me a special breakfast – I didn’t feel as though I inconvenienced her at all – it was as though I was chatting with an old friend. Stay here if you want the best. Nothing else compares.”
