Bartender – Pavilion

Pavilion is a new American eclectic restaurant opening in Fall 2020 next door to Pickering House Inn.  We are looking for a full-time bartender with craft cocktail knowledge, creativity and a minimum of five years of experience. Experience in making your own bitters, shrubs, syrups etc is a plus. On- location interview and skills demonstrating is required at time of interview. Dedicated hospitality professionals only – we are serious about what we do and are looking for the same!

Sous Chef

The role of Sous Chef is to lead all Back-of-House employees towards our goals of creating inspired food, 100% guest satisfaction and exceeding food safety standards, while maintaining profitability. 

The Sous Chef is responsible for the daily preparation of all food items. 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional kitchen management experience

Job Overview: 

General Responsibilities: 

  • Assists in managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, coordinates food production schedules and ensures highest level of food quality, taste and presentation. 
  • Participates in actual food preparation, produces food of consistently high quality, taste and presentation, and expedites during peak meal periods as needed. 
  • Controls food cost by assisting in training kitchen staff on the proper methods of food preparation and handling, and by training kitchen, restaurant and steward employees on how to handle leftover food items. 
  • Ensures that all kitchen employees consistently adhere to uniform, grooming and appearance standards.  
  • In conjunction with the Chef, establishes goals for the kitchen, anticipates and resolves problems concerning all facets of the kitchen, anticipates trends, enacts approved profit-oriented and cost saving ideas/activities.
  • Establishes and requires strict adherence to health department sanitation and food handling guidelines.
  • In conjunction with the Chef, develops menus & creates and ensures adherence to recipes and product specifications. Trains kitchen staff on all new menu items. 
  • Effectively communicates within the kitchen, is responsive to staff suggestions and concerns, and works to resolve problems.
  • Maintains effective working relationship with food purveyors, delivery workers, and all FOH staff.
  • Completes daily food orders in the absence of the Chef, and any other assigned orders using budgeting and sales guidelines.
  • Conducts regular walk-throughs of the entire kitchen/dishwashing areas and coolers and promptly acts to correct deficiencies found during inspection. 



We are looking for individuals who are committed to creating spotless spaces that exceed our guests’ highest expectations. Housekeeping positions are part-time, potentially leading to full-time, depending upon the season. No evening hours required! There are plenty of opportunities for cross-training and taking on additional responsibilities if you want to do more! Compensation is based upon experience and is competitive. Tips are pooled weekly among the housekeeping staff.

  • The PAVILION  restaurant — Our exceptional culinary team headed by Executive Chef Jonathan Hudak will oversee the food at this restaurant, as well as at Pickering House Inn and The Barn at Pickering House.
  • Private Dining at the PAVILION — Groups of 10-20 diners will be able to book a private dining room with porch overlooking Brewster Academy’s playing fields and within walking distance to town docks. 
  • A full-service salon/spa — We look forward to providing extraordinary spa and salon services to pamper both Inn guests and residents and visitors to the Wolfeboro area.
