Venue Coordinator

We are seeking a multi-tasking, self-starter to handle event inquiries, book events and  oversee weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate events and other gatherings on the property. Like all members of our staff, the Venue Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the highest level of service and satisfaction for guests of both The Barn at Pickering House and Pickering House Inn. Responsibilities include timely follow-up with potential clients, preparing estimates and proposals in cooperation with the Inn’s chef and guest services manager, and oversight of events.  Event oversight will include day-of event management, event staffing and management of our overall events program on the property.

For large private client events, the venue coordinator will track the status of support vendors, ensure that outside vendors adhere to our policies, and serve as the point person for the client before and through the event timeline. While the position involves working closely with event clients, please note that this is not a wedding or event planner position. Our Venue Coordinator represents the Inn and Barn venue in event plans created and supervised by others. For smaller private events and our own public event schedule, the Venue Coordinator will include supervision of the event including day-of event management and event staffing.

Compensation is based upon experience and is competitive. Tips are pooled weekly among the housekeeping staff.
